The Taurus G2C is a popular entry-level everyday carry pistol. The slim profile and ergonomic design make this a great gun for anyone wanting a lightweight but rugged smaller frame pistol to carry concealed. AS with any popular pistol, the industry has spawned a wide array of aftermarket accessories.
This article will examine some of the more popular accessories and upgrades available for the Taurus G2C. We will look at the pros and cons, benefits, and features of each product. Hopefully, this will help you as you begin to accessorize and upgrade your Taurus G2C pistol.
Best Green or Red Laser Add-on – Armalaser TR10 Taurus Green Laser Sight Review
Adding a laser sight to your concealed carry pistol is one of the most popular aftermarket accessories. A laser sight enables quick and accurate target acquisition for almost anyone. Green lasers are often easier to see in bright sunlight, making them especially popular with those who carry a concealed pistol.
Green lasers are typically more expensive than red lasers. Armalaser is no different in this aspect and you can expect to pay almost twice as much for a green laser as a red laser. The benefits may outweigh the cost if you are worried about visibility issues on bright sunny days.
The Armalaser TR10 laser sight system is unique in its novel off/off system. The laser sight fits the front of the trigger guard. The laser frame fits against the lower portion of the trigger guard and has a touch-sensitive area that activates the laser when your finger touches it. Touch activation eliminates buttons, switches, and fumbling for the laser.
Each Armalaser TR10 features:
- Custom engineering to fit each model of pistol precisely
- Touch-sensitive on/off switch
- Easy access side battery compartment
- Elevation and windage adjustments recessed for protection against inadvertent movement
- Laser will pulse or steady beam
- Both red and green lasers available
- Laser output – 4 mW
- Laser Wavelength – 5 nm
- Maximum Laser Range – 50 ft
- Battery type – 357, Cr1/3N
- Polymer construction
Pros
- The mount is sturdy and rugged
- The placement of the windage and elevation adjustments make zeroing easy and quick
- Hold zero with worry
- The green laser is bright and easily visible in sunshine
Cons
- The battery may be hard to find
- Installation is a bit of a challenge
If you are shopping for an aftermarket laser sight for your Taurus G2C, the Armalaser TR10 should be at or near the top of your list. The ingenious touch-sensitive on/off switch eliminates many of the problems shooters experience with a trigger guard mounted laser.
Best Night Sight Upgrade – Truglo Taurus Tritium Pro Night Sight Set Review
After a laser sight, the most requested upgrade by most shooters are sights. The standard factory sights on the Taurus G2C are workable, but there is almost always lots of room for improving the sights on any pistol straight from the factory.
Truglo has made a reputation for designing and building some of the best aftermarket pistol sights. My recommendation has always been to go the extra mile and make sure that any replacement sights give the best nighttime performance possible.
The Truglo fits these sight sets with tritium, which glows brightly in the dark with no batteries. Adding a set of Truglo Tritium night sights to your pistol will ensure that even someone with impaired night vision can see the sights. Opting for Truglo aftermarket sights gets you these features.
- Front sight FOCUS-LOCK ring means faster target acquisition
- Angles rear sight design allows emergency one-hand operation
- Unmatched visibility day or night
- No batteries
- Compact profile doesn’t interfere with most holsters
- Snag-resistant design rounds the corners for quick access
- Made in the USA
- All steel construction for the best in durability
- Matte black finish
Pros
- Easy to install for most people
- Quality construction and high durability
- No batteries required
- Very accurate sights.
- Hold zero well after installation
Cons
- A bit pricey

I would choose to upgrade the sights on my pistol over adding a laser if I had to choose. Even if the tritium fails or the lighting conditions make the tritium unseeable, the sights will still work. A laser with a dead battery or in extreme conditions may not be visible. These Truglo Tritium Pro night sights will assure you of quick target acquisition and accurate aiming no matter the conditions.
Best Rail Mount Flashlight – OLIGHT PL-Mini 2 Valkyrie Review
If you can’t see your target, it is hard to aim. At night, the problem may not be seeing your sights, it may be seeing your target at all. Many people who conceal carry add rail-mount flashlights to the front of their pistol where possible. Fortunately, the Taurus G2C model line comes with a short forward rail beneath the muzzle.
OLIGHT manufactures a full line of flashlights for every conceivable situation. The OLIGHT PL-Mini Valkyrie pistol light is a compact 600 lumen light that is a perfect addition to your concealed carry pistol. OLIGHT has a reputation for durability and reliability that makes their lights exceptional values for most shooters.
The features and specifications of the OLIGHT PL-Mini Valkyrie pistol light bear out the reputation that OLIGHT enjoys. You won’t find many other light manufacturers who offer such complete features and high specifications as OLIGHT.

There are much more expensive pistol lights on the market. For the money, you can’t beat the OLIGHT PL-Mini Valkyrie. I wouldn’t recommend this light for duty vary by police officers, but for the person who conceal carries or is looking for a light for their home defense pistol, the OLIGHT is a perfect choice.
Best Grip Upgrade – Talon Grips for the Taurus G2C Review
After sights and lights, the next most important upgrade to your pistol is the grips. If you aren’t comfortable holding your pistol, your ability to accurately and consistently put shots downrange is questionable. Being able to get a firm, consistent grip on your firearm is the key to accuracy.
Talon Grips is not the biggest or most well-known aftermarket grip maker. However, they may be one of the best. This lack of exposure puts them in my book as an undiscovered treasure by most shooters.
Since the Taurus G2C is a polymer frame, the grips are integral to the whole frame. This type of design makes putting aftermarket grips on this style of pistol a challenge. The Talon Grips are custom cut to fit your pistol grips using an adhesive backing on the grip material.
- Creates a positive grip surface without altering the gun
- Improved grip surface leads to improved accuracy
- Patented gun-grip design compatible with a wide array of pistols
- Available in two styles – granulated and rubber textures
- Almost anyone can perform an easy, quick installation
- Compatible without almost all holsters
Pros
- Easy and quick installation
- Durable material
- Two styles of texture
- Affordable
Cons
- The heavy texture may not be suitable for concealed carry IWB

The Talon Grips are the best option for upgrading the grips on polymer-framed pistols I have found. These grips are durable, quick, and easy to install and provide some of the most secure surfaces to be found. If you find the Taurus G2C grips a bit slick or hard to hold, a Talon aftermarket grip is a good solution to your problems.
Best Trigger Upgrade – Straight SAO Short Stroke Trigger by Keep Tinkering Review
When you start a discussion about upgrading pistols, the subject always comes around to trigger upgrades. The Taurus G2C is no different. The stock trigger on the Taurus G2C is useable but can use some improvements.
The Keep Tinkering company solves many of the Taurus G2C factory trigger shortcomings with the Straight SAO aftermarket trigger. I must say upfront that the Straight SAO trigger upgrade removes some of the Taurus G2C functionality but considerably improves the trigger function.
One of the problem points in the Taurus G2C trigger system is the stock trigger safety. These trigger safety assemblies are prone to failure and have what many consider excessive trigger travel. The Keep Tinkering SAO Short Stroke trigger effectively eliminates these shortcomings in the Taurus G2C.
The benefits of the Keep Tinkering SAO Trigger include:
- Eliminates the Taurus trigger safety
- Reduces trigger travel by almost 45 percent
- Converts the pistol to single-action only (SAO)
- Retains the function of the manual safety selector
- Provides all the safe drop features of the Taurus G2C internal mechanisms
- Made of nylon polymer
- Drop-in fit on 95 percent of all Taurus pistols
- Available in several styles – Curved face, straight face, and skeletonized
- Made in the USA
Pros
- Definite improvements in the trigger length of pull and breakpoint
- Eliminates problems with the Taurus trigger safety mechanism
- Available in either straight-faced or curved face for a custom fit and feel
- Relatively easy to install
Cons
- May require some custom fitting on some pistols
- This trigger design may not be the best for IWB holsters
Altering a pistols trigger has its pros and cons, especially when you start tinkering with the safety mechanisms. The Keep Tinkering SAO Short Stroke replacement trigger certainly improves the trigger action on the Taurus G2c. It also eliminates trigger safety, which can cause problems if you carry IWB. Be sure that you are aware of the safety considerations with any alteration you make to a trigger.
Best Optics Upgrade – Vortex Viper Red Dot Sight Review
We have already talked about improving sights and the advantages of a laser sight on a self-defense pistol. However, some people prefer an alternative to aftermarket sight upgrades or installing a laser on their pistols. The addition of a red dot sight is, for many shooters, the preferred option.
My choice for a red dot optic to mount on the Taurus G2C is the Vortex Viper red dot sight. This small profile optic makes target acquisition quick and almost instinctive. Vortex is known for its quality and performance, so choosing a Vortex sight for your pistol is never a worry.
Vortex is well known for its quality, durability, and optical clarity. The Vortex Viper red dot sight carries all these qualities as well. Backed by the Vortex Optics no question warranty, these small red dot sights are a great value. The included features speak to Vortex Optics’ reputation.
- Fully multi-coated lenses
- Unlimited eye relief
- Parallax free operation
- 6 MOA dot for easy daylight use
- Co-witnesses with many installed pistol front sights
- Length – 1.8 inches
- Weight – 1.03 ounces
- Fully adjustable for windage and elevation
Pros
- Light and low profile
- Clear and precise images
- Allows rapid sight transition and acquisition
- Extremely rugged construction ensures dependable operation
Cons
- May require gunsmithing to fit on some pistols
- A bit pricey
- The Viper Red Dot Sight has a super low-profile making it perfect for handguns with cut-out slides.
- The Viper's low height allows it to co-witness with iron sights and the 6 MOA dot is easy to pick up...

Cheaper red dot sights suitable for mounting on a pistol may not be of great value if they cannot withstand the slide’s repeated forces moving back and forth when firing. Vortex Optics has engineered the Viper series of scopes for just this sort of duty. Don’t forget to include the cost of having a competent gunsmith install the optic on your pistol.
Upgrades and Accessories – Making your Pistol Your Own Review
Every shooter eventually begins to add the things that make their pistol more personal. It is a fact of shooting that we all like to add those pieces and parts to improve our shooting. The Taurus G2C is an excellent entry-level personal defense pistol. For many shooters, it may be the only pistol they ever purchase. Making it even more personal is one of the joys of being a shooter. Stay safe and shoot straight.
